camera kid is now on flickr!!

Having abandoned my old flickr account I think it was last year, I'm back with a new one! This time, I only upload what I think are the best, so you'll see that there are not many photos in my photostream.

(Be sure to check out my sunset project!)

I know what you're thinking now. Why the hell upload to flickr when I already have this blog, a Photobucket and also regularly upload to Facebook? Well, let me tell you that Facebook is for the everyday shots that I'll never upload here, Photobucket is for the slightly better ones that I'll showcase on this blog, while flickr is for the very few that I actually like. So although I took hundreds of photos during my trips to the bird park and the zoo, there're only a couple that are uploaded to flickr, and I plan to keep it that way.

And another thing. I just had my 15th photo - woohoo!! - accepted on A.net! I know, it's irritating of me to post something every time I have a shot accepted but the feeling's just awesome! You have to experience it to understand it!

accepted shot #14!

Wah finally!!! It's been months since my last shot got accepted! This shot is my favourite so far! I love it to bits because of the trouble I took to get it! Well if you haven't been reading my main blog (it's okay) I waited 10 hours at Marina Bay Sands for the flying display during National Day. Yeah man! 10 hours! I only ate a hotdog!

i'm back... with photo of the week #1

So on my main blog I said that I'd given up on this blog. Well, not so fast! I think I'll post a random lame photo every week just for the sake of keeping this blog going... Even if no one comes here anymore (it seems to be the case for every blog/website I create :/) Ah who cares, even if no one comes, I still have something to read when I'm bored... Haha

This week's random photo:

I'm going to Batam in September. Prime photography opportunity. Till then...

kukup trip

I'm back from my photography trip to Kukup! I didn't take many photos because I was very tired! And there weren't many things to photograph there, except for the sunsets, or maybe I don't have that 'eye' for good composition yet... Anyway, here are some of the photos! I hope you enjoy them!

colmar tropicale

I'm back from Malaysia! I went to Colmar Tropicale at Bukit Tinggi on the 1st and 2nd! It's a resort built to resemble the town of Colmar in France! In fact, I've been to the real Colmar! Here are some pictures (sorry if the quality sucks, but I took them with my lousy point-and-shoot!):

1s exposure.

And compare these buildings to those in Colmar Tropicale, Malaysia:

Photobucket
I'd say they're pretty similar, don't you think? This photo was taken from our hotel room! (f/8, 1/160s @ ISO100, 18mm)

We left Singapore pretty early, at 6am on April Fool's Day. Actually I had already been up since 2.30am to watch the Arsenal-Barca match. All I can say is... wow. Arsenal was shit in the first 15 minutes (30-70 possession, wtf!), but our comeback was amazing. We can definitely beat Barca if we played like that for the whole 90 minutes.

We stopped by a roadside coffee shop for breakfast. I took another moonshot.

Photobucket
I shot this handheld! (f/5.6, 1/30s @ ISO100, 250mm)

Spent close to 6 hours in the car. We took a wrong turn on the highway and ended up in downtown KL. We were stuck in the traffic jam for almost an hour, and when we finally got back to the highway, we missed the turning to E8, the highway that would take us to Colmar Tropicale. So our arrival was delayed by yet another hour, but we made it in the end!

We went to our hotel room after check-in. It's a double-storey room!

We walked around the resort for awhile... then went to the Japanese Village nearby.

The Japanese Village was further up, so we had a nice view of the hills around.

We went to the nearby botanical garden first.

We went to the Japanese Tea House next. We didn't attend the tea ceremony because it was too expensive. So we fed the fishes in the pond. Or rather, my parents fed them while I took pictures.

When we went back to the hotel, I fell asleep for goodness knows how long and it was dark when I woke up.

We had dinner at this posh French restaurant, La Cigogne (the Stork). It's so posh that we couldn't go inside because I was wearing flip-flops and shorts. Haha.

Photobucket
I ordered Alsatian sausages while my parents ordered duck and salmon. The food was good! However they didn't have foie gras and escargots! They used to have, but it was difficult to import from France!

While waiting for our food, I went to watch a Chinese acrobatic performance nearby.

The 'Head-in-Crotch' move. Not comfortable at all.

Photobucket
View of the interior of the restaurant. There weren't many people dining here. In fact, there weren't many people in the resort itself. I think it's because it's not the school holidays yet.

The next morning, I went to the top of the tower with my dad and took pictures.

I even managed to take a photo of a helicopter!

Beautiful clouds!

I want to live in those houses!!!

View of Colmar Tropicale from the tower.

We left Colmar Tropicale at around 11 and began our loooooooooooong journey home.

The end! I hope you've enjoyed the pictures!
